The sun, moon, and planets

the earth and all life upon its surface carries forward in complicated patterns that make up the cosmos. to study planetary cycles in order to gain a better understanding of how mankind in general and people as individuals, fit into the universal cosmos. knowledge upon advanced understanding of astronomy and mathematics

astrological sign
astrological sign, stating which sign of the zodiac the sun was in when they were born.

Why the sun important in astrology
Our sun is a very impressive in a universe incalculably cold and dark, it is fortunate that the earth continues to circle around the warmth and light. Without it there would be no life. During the twelve months it takes to make one complete orbit around the sun, the earth receives life-giving solar rays from continually changing angles. This cyclical pattern produces the four seasons.

The four seasons.

Birth, growth, maturity, and death. The cycle of the seasons is by the earth's relationship with the sun, and every individual life upon its surface is in imitation of this pattern.

the astrological sign descriptions based
Astrology uses two general classifications to explain how the same characteristic can be shared by different signs.

One classification is known as Elements which divides the twelve signs into four groups: Fire signs (represented by the signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.) , Earth signs (represented by the signs Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn.), Air signs (represented by the signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius). and Water signs(represented by the signs Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.).

Two The other classification is known as Qualities, which divides the twelve signs into three groups: Cardinal signs (are Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), Fixed signs (are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius), and Mutable signs (are Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces).

The difference between astrological sign and horoscope

A person's astrological sign is determined simply by the position of the sun at the time of birth.

The horoscope, however, is literally a map of the heavens showing the exact position of the sun, moon, and planets.

It is calculated using the exact date, hour, and location of an individual's birth. people are born on the same date but at a different hour , And not in the same place. A horoscope is calculated using all three of these variables. Every four-minute interval produces a slightly different chart, Some twins are rarely born within such a space of time, two individuals have not the same one.

Introduction to the Astrological Houses

An astrology chart divides a circle into 12 parts, or Houses. There are many systems of house division.

ArtCharts uses the Placidus system, which is ( industry standard ) Houses describe where experiences occur.

Aspect
When one Planet contacts another by an exact geometric angle, astrologers say the planets are in aspect or forming an aspect.

The MAJOR aspects are: conjunction (0 degrees), sextile (60 degrees), square (90 degrees), trine (120 degrees), or opposition (180 degrees). If you consider a 360 degree circle, a conjunction is when 2 (or more) Planets are 0 degrees apart, or conjunct. A sextile is a 60 degree angle, a square is a 90 degree angle, a trine is a 120 degree angle, and an opposition is a 180 degree angle.

The MINOR aspects are: that are important; the semisquare (45 degree), the sesquiquadrate (135 degrees), the inconjunct (150 degrees).

What we casually refer to as "astrology" is Geocentric astrology, calculated from the perspesctive of the Earth and means the planets appear to aspect each other from the Earth's perspective. Heliocentric astrology is from the perspective of the Sun.

Transit
Transits are the positions of the Planets as they orbit in their daily motion. When transiting planets contact each other or one or your natal planets, we are alerted that things are more likely to happen. You can use a biwheel chart to compare the current transits to a natal chart.

Which Transits are most important
The slowest moving outer Planets ironically have the most influence. Even tho they are farthest away from the Earth, their slow motion lengthens the time that their aspects last, thereby creating the greatest change. The Moon aspects are the most fleeting. They are used to time events, but mostly, they indicate passing moods. Transits of the outer planets to your personal Planets can signal big changes in your life.

What is an Aspect Pattern
When several aspects occur in the same chart (or simultaneously), they can create larger aspect patterns. Instead of one aspect, several planets in aspect can create a larger aspect pattern. These larger patterns can signify a complex personality pattern, referred to by psychologists as "complexes".

Aspect patterns have a major influence on your personality and character by creating greater ease or resistance. They can also be set off and stepped up by transiting and progressed planets. A natal trine may become a Grand Trine whenever a third planet enters the part of the zodiac that trines both planets already in trine. A T-Square can become a Grand Square, and a sextile can become a Yod. This can also happen in relation to other people and their planets can form larger aspect patterns with yours. Having these aspects together can create feelings of immediate rapport and significant relationship dynamics or something you are both attracted to work on or understand.

Grand Trines
When 2 planets make a trine (120 degree angle), and there is a 3rd planet that also makes trines to both planets, this triangle is called a Grand Trine. Imagine a planet at 0 degrees Aries, another at 0 Leo and a 3rd at 0 Sagittarius, and this is a Grand Trine. The 3 planets that make up a Grand Trine are usually in the same ELEMENT. They don't have to be, as some aspects are very close, yet out-of-sign. However, the principle of a Grand Trine is that there or 3 (or more) planets trine each other in the same element. When you see a Grand Trine in a chart, it looks like a large triangle. A Grand Trine aspect pattern can create a feeling of ease and complacency because things seem to "just happen" seamlessly, without effort, friction, or force. This can signify a special talent or ability that appears effortless, but it can also signal a tendency to be lazy or complacent because things come so easily that there is nothing to prove and talent is never fully developed. Your tendency can be to leave the tough stuff for another day. With a Grand Trine, there's always tomorrow....

T-Squares and Grand Squares
When 3 planets square each other, they form a triangle called a T-Square. In a T-Square, there is one planet that squares 2 other planets that oppose each other. If you envision a planet at 0 degrees Aries with a planet square it from 0 Capricorn and another at 0 Cancer, this is a T-Square. If there is also a 4th planet in square with the others, for example a planet at 0 degrees Libra, this creates a Grand Square pattern.

A T-Square is a challenging aspect that signifies a struggle that intensifies and eventually leads to a resolution. While T-Square configurations are common, they signify an inherent challenge that forces growth or change that can lead to success in life. The focal planet, or planet that squares the opposing planets, is the key to the T-Square and shows where tension is most likely to show up. Conflict resolution may be aided by the missing or empty part of the Square (opposing the focal planet).

While T-Squares are often found in charts, Grand Squares are less common and often signify a weight to bear that keeps you on a short leash. It may seem like access is continuously denied and you are restricted to a small area where growth is only possible with discipline and hard work. For some reason or another, you are continually stressed and need to consciously maintain balance, always being forced to stick to the straight and narrow. Somehow, these people often learn to carry big loads and are capable of effectively handling large responsibilities. However, they can also feel overstressed and overburdened at times.

Yods
In a YOD pattern, 2 planets make a sextile, and they both make a quincunx (inconjunct or 150 degree aspect) to a 3rd planet, creating a triangle, or Yod. If you imagine a planet at 0 Aries and 2 planets sextile each other at 0 Virgo and 0 Scorpio, this is a Yod.

Yods are called the "finger of God" and have a connotation of being receptive to messages from higher states of consciousness. While Yods can be exotic and you can enjoy the adventure of feeling like a stranger in a strange land, you may also need to make consessions and be adaptive to unfamiliar situations when you have a Yod in your chart. It may be that you give in one direction and get your needs met from a completely different source, so it is not possible to measure how much others give you to decide how much you can give.

What is an Angle
When looking at a horoscope, you'll see the Houses divided by cusps. The darker lines are the cusps of the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses, called Angles. Planets near these angles have the strongest voice in a chart. When looking at a chart for the transiting planets, if there are planets near the angles, things are most likely to happen.

What is an Ingress
An ingress is when any Planet enters a new sign and is 00 degrees 00 minutes of that sign. For example, when Venus enters Virgo, Venus is at the ingress of Virgo and therefore 00Virgo00. Along the Earth's ecliptic there are 12 constellations we've come to know as the astrological signs and each sign contains 30 degrees

Retrograde Planets

RETROGRADE, You may have heard of bad omens connected with times of Retrograde and the first thing you may think is: potential for problems and limited progress. Retrogrades happen only from the perspective of Earth (called Geocentric). From the Sun's perspective (called Heliocentric), there are no Retrogrades, the planets continuously move in their orbits around the Sun. But from our perspective on the Earth, planets sometimes APPEAR to be going backwards. It's a sensory illusion, much like what happens when you're moving slowly in a train or car and another train or car going slower seems to be going backwards. From our perspective, the other planet seems to slow in its orbit. Right before a planet makes a Retrograde station (the point where it Retrogrades), it is at its farthest point in its orbit from the Earth. What actually happens when a planet Retrogrades is that it comes back closer to the Earth (and opposes the Sun).

Astrologically, Retrogrades happen when planets, and the energy they represent, are too far out and need to come back in line with the Earth. This is when you need to slow it down. You may need to take 1 step back now to take 2 steps forward later, and during a Retrograde, slowing down can be ultimately more productive and profitable than pushing on relentlessly ahead. When Retrogrades happen, things need to change, minds change, information changes, and people with Retrograde planets in their charts are here to create change and increase consciousness here on Earth. When you have Retrograde planets in your chart, people may not see you in your true glory, there's more to you than meets the eye.

Mercury Retrograde
three times a year for three weeks each time. This is a good time to figure things out, see things from a more internal perspective, and decide how to proceed so you can work and communicate more effectively.

Venus Retrograde
Retrograde During Venus Retrograde you may get a better view of yourself by observing how you relate to others.

Mars Retrograde
When Mars is retrograde, bring your own agenda with others, you may be able to deepen your intimate relationships and re-energize yourself.

Jupiter Retrograde
When Jupiter is Retrograde, expansion is beneficial and the quest to understand is the journey and the teaching.

Saturn Retrograde
Saturn is Retrograde This knowledge can ultimately help you translate yourself and your work to the world in a lucid, more easily comprehensible way.

Uranus Retrograde
Uranus Retrograde Start planning your personal quest for freedom and independence now.

Neptune Retrograde
Retrograde Neptune stay extra aware of your boundaries and borders.

Pluto Retrograde
Pluto retrograde, this is how Pluto tests our ability to stay true to your path.

What is a Progressed Chart
many types of Progressed Charts, Progressed Charts, they usually mean Secondary Progressed Charts. As the Natal (or Birth) Chart shows your promise and potential, the Progressed Chart shows your spiritual unfolding and personal growth. Progressed Charts are used to better understand what motivates you to want to create major life changes. Although your birth chart remains the same, life changes and changes us, and the Progressed Chart describes these changes. It is extremely valuable to compare your current Progressed Chart to your natal chart; it is your inner self showing you how and what it wants to change.

To determine your Progressed Chart, look at an ephemeris (the daily listing of planetary positions), and find the day you were born. Then you then count down a-day-for-a-year for each year of your life, and this is your Progressed Chart. Each line of the ephemeris is a day and each day represents one year of life in your Progressed chart. For example, if you are 20, you count twenty lines (or days) from the day of your birth to find your Progressed Sun and read across to find your Progressed Moon and planets. If you are 30, count 30 lines (or days), etc.

Movement in a progressed chart is different than the movement of a regular chart Since the Progressed chart is calculated using one day for a year of life, the planets move considerably slower. The movement of the Moon is approximately a degree for each month, while the Sun moves about a degree a year. Due to the ecliptic shape of the Earth's orbit around the Sun, the progressed movement is not precisely one degree per year and computer software can make these difficult calculations quickly and precisely. What changes most in a Progressed chart is the Moon, then the Sun, Venus, Mercury, and the house cusps, including your Ascendant and Midheaven, which also progress approximately a degree every year.

By Progression, your planets can also change houses, both within the progressed chart and in comparison to your natal (birth) chart. Planets can also station Retrograde or Direct by progressions and these changes are usually notable in your life.

When you use Progressions to compare the charts of 2 people in a relationship, you find what brings you together at this point in life. There are some relationships that are lifelong and others that are for season, and by studying a comparison of your Progressed charts, you can understand more about the underlying reasons you are drawn together.

Another form of the Progressions is the Solar Arc Direction. The Solar Arc Direction is created by using the position of the SUN in the Secondary Progressed Chart. To determine the arc (number of degrees) the Sun has traveled since you were born, find the difference between your Secondary Progressed Sun and your Natal Sun. Then take this number and add it to all the planets' natal positions. This makes them all progress uniformly to the Sun and your natal chart, and that's why it's called your SOLAR (Sun) Arc Direction.

Solar Arc Directions are used in Cosmobiology and Uranian Astrology and are considered to be predictive on a physical level, while Secondary Progressions are thought to operate on more of an emotional or feeling level.

What's the difference between Transits and Progressions?
Transits are the planets currently orbiting in the sky and the relationships they form to each other and additionally, to your chart. Transits happen for everyone. They're important and effect you personally when they contact a planet or point in your chart. Transits represent outside energy, things happening outside yourself. They describe external events and your responses to them. Progressions, however, move very slowly and are a natural progression of your original birth chart. The events and emotions they describe are part of you, deeply ingrained in your psyche, internal, and psychological. And as they form aspects, these inner feelings start to become more important and central to your life.

Moon Phases

The Moon's phases are determined by the Moon's constantly changing relationship to the Sun.

There are eight (8) Moon cycles, dividing the circle into eight 45 degree angles.

The cycle starts with:

The First phase the New Moon, which is the conjunction of the Moon and the Sun (0 degrees of separation).

The 2nd phase is the (waxing) Crescent Moon, which is a separating angle of 45 degrees, or a semisquare angle.

The 3rd phase is the First Quarter Moon, when the Sun and Moon are 90 degrees apart.

The 4th phase is the (waxing) Gibbous Moon phase, a separating angle of 135 degrees, also called sesquiquadrate.

The 5th phase is the Full Moon, or 180 degree separation. At this point, the Sun and Moon start to approach again.

The 6th phase is the Disseminating Moon (or waning Gibbous) phase, an approaching angle of 135 degrees.

The 7th phase is the Last Quarter Moon, an approaching square angle of 90 degrees.

The last and 8th phase is the Balsamic Moon (or waning Crescent) phase, when the Moon approaches the Sun at a 45 degree angle.

Void-Of-Course Moon
The Moon becomes Void Of Course (VOC) after making the last major ptolemic aspect (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) to a planet and until entering the next sign.
